How to Create a Check-in

You can follow the steps below to create a new check-in for your team in MyCheckins.

Note: Check-ins can only be created by Workspace Owners and Team Leads on MyCheckins. If you need access, ask your MyCheckins Team Lead to change your role in Team Settings.  

  1. Go to MyCheckins and login to your account using the “Sign-in with Slack” option.
  2. In the application side-bar, click on the team you want to add a check-in with. The Team Page will open.
  3. You can create a check-in in two ways: using Templates or by creating a Custom Check-in.  

Create a Check-in using Templates

Step One

On the team page, pick a template of your choice and click on the “View Template” button.

Step Two

Read the description and click on the “Use Template” button to proceed. You can change the questions, set the schedule and reminders while creating the check-in.

Click on the “Next” button.

Step Four

From the Team Member list, please select the members you want to be part of the check-in. You can scroll the list or search by name.

Step Five

Choose the Slack channel where you want the responses to be posted. You can scroll the list or search by name. If you just created or updated a Slack channel, click on the refresh button.

Step Seven

Click on the “Create Check-in" button. Your check-in is ready – you and your team will receive reminders on Slack when the check-in reminder triggers.

Create a Custom Check-in

Step One

On the team page, click on the “Add Check-in" button.

Step Three

Select the days you want to run the check-in. Use the time-picker to set the meeting time.

Click and select the reminders you want to use. (For more information on reminder types, hover on the question mark icon right next to them)

Click on the “Next” Button.

From the Team Member list, please select the members you want to be part of the check-in. You can scroll the list or search by name.

Choose the Slack channel where you want the responses to be posted. You can scroll the list or search by name.

If you just created or updated a Slack channel, click on the refresh button. If you want to share responses to a private Slack channel, click on the marked box to learn how.
